We Believe

We at Zion Lutheran Church are a Christian congregation who strive to be faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at all time. As such we hold all of the 66 books of the Holy Bible to be the inspired and inerrant word of God. This means that what we believe, what we confess, and how we live by faith does not change with the time/ but instead the church of God is to remain steadfast in accord with the Word of God found in the Holy Bible. Zion Lutheran Church also confesses the Lutheran Confessions to be the proper explanation and exposition of the Scriptures, and as such always aim to confess the truth found therein.

  • There is one God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • All things were made by God and all humanity is bound to serve Him and live according to His will.
  • Humanity was once pure and holy. God created our first parents Adam and Eve and God established His people in Eden in perfection and love.
  • Adam and Eve destroyed the perfection of humanity and the world and that is why all people are born sinful and under the power of the devil.
  • God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile the fallen world to Himself through the death of Jesus on the cross.
  • Jesus rose from the dead to give a new life to all those who will receive Him in faith.
  • Faith is a gift of God that is given to people through the working of God's Word and Spirit.
  • God works forgiveness of sins through the means of grace.
  • The means of grace are: Holy Baptism, Holy Absolution, Holy Communion, and the preached Word of God.
  • On the Last Day Jesus Christ will return to earth as judge and give eternal life to His faithful people but give eternal death to those not coverted and forgiven by Him.

Zion Lutheran Church strives at all times to convey, express, and confess the truth of the Holy Spriptures. Our church exists to keep people in faith through the Word and Sacraments and further the message of the cross through proclamation and sharing of our faith whenever possible. The members of Zion Lutheran Church are the servants of God gathered together according to His good and gracious will. We pray that God's will be done and the Gospel of our Lord may go into all the world.
